(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 18, 2013, 8:42 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 9-21-1977 Jack Julian Pope Jack Julian Pope, 62, of 903 Soperton Ave., East Dublin, died Tuesday night at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Wheeler County, he lived in Laurens County most of his life and was a retired employee of the J. P. Stevens Company. He was a member of East Dublin Assembly of God. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3pm at the East Dublin Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Robert Fennell and the Rev. Gordon Statum officiating. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Loney Warnick Pope; one daughter, Mrs. Greta Durden of Decatur; one brother, Sentell R. Pope of Dublin; five sisters, Mrs. Ouida Bush, Mrs. Lela Warnock, Mrs. Reba Young, and Mrs. Cleo Fulford, all of Dublin and Mrs. Allene Arnesen of Clearwater, Fla.; and one granddaughter. The body will remain at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home until 2pm Thursday when it will be placed in the church to remain until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral homeWednesday night 7:30 until 9. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Kemp, Monroe Lovett, Bobby Lovett, Jack Stewart, Ken Warnock, and Vinson Drew. Honorary escort will include the men of the Adult Bible Class of the East Dublin Assembly of God Church. Additional Comments: Jack was born 28 May 1915 to George I. Pope and Dollie R. Unknown Pope.
