(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net October 16, 2009, 6:23 am The Rome News Tribune 4-1-2003 Page 6A Mrs. Etta Mae Scott Mrs. Etta Mae Scott, age 72, of 26 Alabama St. Cave Spring, died Sunday in a Rome hospital. A native of Laurens County, Mrs. Scott was born May 12, 1930, daughter of the late Worthen L. Foskey and Claudia Clements Foskey. Mrs. Scott moved to Cave Spring in 1964 and was a retired beautician. She had also been a house-parent at the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring for a number of years and she attended the Cave Spring United Methodist Church. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Treddis Scott, to whom she was married Sept. 29, 1950; one son, Johnny (Mary Ann) Scott of Moreland; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Ayers of Cave Spring; three brothers, Booth Foskey and Eddie Foskey, both of Dublin and the Rev. Everett Foskey of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Wood of Dublin and Mrs. Carrie Dominy of Centerville; two grandchildren, Jamie Scott and Barry Ayers also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Etta Scott will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2pm at the Cave Spring United Methodist Church with Dr. Yim Kul Lee, the Rev. Everett Foskey, and the Rev. Jim Whitworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Cave Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at John's House Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home this evening from 7 until 9pm. At other hours, they will be at the residence, 26 Alabama St., Cave Spring. Mrs. Scott will be carried to the Cave Spring United Methodist Church at 1pm Wednesday to lie in state until the funeral hour.
