(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net May 14, 2012, 10:58 am The Dublin Courier Herald 12-29-1980 Services for Mr. Shepard held Sunday James Blanton Shepard, 86, of Rt. 5 Dublin, died Saturday at a local hospital after an extended illness. Services were hels at 4pm Sunday at the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Carter and the Rev. Bob Carlton officiated and burial was in Blue Water Baptist Church Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mr. Shepard was a retired farmer and was a member of Blue Water Baptist Church. He was the son of the late James Freeman Shepard and the late Mary Davidson Shepard of Laurens County. Survivors include his wife, Donnie McGowan Shepard of Dublin; three sons, Thurmon Shepard, Charles Shepard, and Harold Shepard, all of Dublin; a daughter, Sarah Maxey of Dublin; a brother, Robert M. Shepard of Ft. McCoy, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Additional Comments: James was born 20 Dec 1984. He was first married to Verta Coleman Shepard and then to Julia Arbelia Thomas Hilburn Sheppard. Georgia death certificate #043038.
