Sheppard, of Adrian, died in a local hospital yesterday. Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm today in the Carter Chapel Church. The Rev. O. L. Lyles and the Rev. Ben T. Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Carter Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Sheppard was born in Laurens County the daughter of Henry J. Thomas and Mrs. Virginia Stewart Thomas and had lived in Laurens County most of her life. She was a member of the St. Paul's Nazarene Church near Scott. Surviving are one son, Jim Hilburn of Dublin; two daughters, Mrs. Hoke Long of Macon, Ga. and Mrs. Carlton Willis of Cleveland, Ohio and Adrian; three step-sons, Herbert, Inman, and U. G. Sheppard, all of Dublin; one step- daughter, Mrs. Ruth Parrish of Macon; four grandchildren; three brothers, C. B. Thomas of Dublin, W. R. Thomas of Clinton, SC., and Charlie A. Thomas of Rock Hill, SC.; and one sister, Mrs. Charles L. Webb of Gainesville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Hoke Long, 3155 Mary Drive. Additional Comments: Julia was born 21 Oct 1892. Her first husband was Aaron John Vaughn Hilbun/Hilburn and her second husband was James Blanton "J. B." Sheppard. Georgia death certificate #017342.
