(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 1, 2012, 2:04 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 7-27-2009 Waudena Faye Foskey Simons On Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 9:30am, there was a reunion in heaven between two wonderful people that were married for 60 years, Jack and Waudena Simons, even death could not keep them apart. Funeral services for Mrs. Waudena Faye Foskey Simons, age 76, will be held at 10am on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow at Brewton Cemetery. Mr. W. L. Simons will officiate. Mrs. Simons was born on June 23, 1933 and is a native of Laurens County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late William S. Foskey and Vera Davis Foskey Garner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Eugene Simons and a grandson, Adam Holmes. She was a loving and wonderful grandmother to her five grandsons and her great granddaughter. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She was retired as a real estate agent and was a homemaker. She was an avid gardner. She was past president of Green Acres Garden Club. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star. She was an honor graduate of Dublin High School. She was very passionate about football. She was the first woman to ever be a member of the Dublin Touchdown Club. Mrs. Simons is survived by her son, Mike (Barbara) Simons of Dublin; a daughter, Theresa (Floyd) Holmes of Dublin; a brother, James (Linda) Garner of Dublin; three sisters, Rita (Billy) Scarboro of Dublin, Nita Buscher of Dublin, and Shelia Mallory of Dublin; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Eli Holmes, Paul Holmes, Michael Simons, Matthew Simons, Jimmy Garner, and Don Clay. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, July 27, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
