                         William Carl Smith
 William Carl Smith, 76, Rte. 6 Dublin, died Saturday morning in a local 
hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm 
today at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James H. Frost and 
Rev. Gordon H. Statum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 A native of Johnson County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late William Joe 
Smith and the late Annie Brown Smith. He had been a resident of Laurens County 
for the past 34 years. He was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the 
Nazarene and a retired employee of the Georgia Plywood Company.
 Survivors are one son, Jack Smith, Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Lovett 
and Mrs. Travis Bracewell, both of Dublin; two brothers, I. T. Smith and Jim 
Smith, both of Macon; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Mae Johnson of Dublin; six 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
 Pallbrarers will be Eston G. West, Kenneth McCord, Johnny Mesevy, Jack May, 
Kenneth Smith and Carvis Smith.
 Townsend Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl was born 11 Mar 1901. His wife was Bertha Hanson Smith who is also buried 
at Graham Memorial Nazarene Church Cemetery. Georgia death certificate #008842.
