(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 8, 2012, 12:14 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 3-14-1977 William Carl Smith William Carl Smith, 76, Rte. 6 Dublin, died Saturday morning in a local hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm today at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James H. Frost and Rev. Gordon H. Statum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Johnson County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late William Joe Smith and the late Annie Brown Smith. He had been a resident of Laurens County for the past 34 years. He was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene and a retired employee of the Georgia Plywood Company. Survivors are one son, Jack Smith, Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Lovett and Mrs. Travis Bracewell, both of Dublin; two brothers, I. T. Smith and Jim Smith, both of Macon; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Mae Johnson of Dublin; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbrarers will be Eston G. West, Kenneth McCord, Johnny Mesevy, Jack May, Kenneth Smith and Carvis Smith. Townsend Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Carl was born 11 Mar 1901. His wife was Bertha Hanson Smith who is also buried at Graham Memorial Nazarene Church Cemetery. Georgia death certificate #008842.
