Smith, 64 of 128 Hillcrest Dr., died yesterday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Friday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. C. E. Vines, Rev. Frank Singleton, and Rev. Harold Scoggins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Smith will be placed in the church at 3pm Friday. Active pallbearers will be Talmadge Fennell, E. P. Howington, Earl E. Crafton, L. C. Davis, and Claxton Fountain. Honorary escort includes Dr. John A. Bell Jr., C. C. Crockett, Herbert Walters, E. M. Brown, C. U. Smith, Roy Watson, Clifford Scoggins, Paul Kibler, Leroy Pryor, Grady Screws, David G. Daniel, and Curtis Culpepper. Born in Wheeler County, Mr. Smith had lived in Dublin for the past 30 years. He was a retired merchant, a member of the Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War I. He was the son of the late Dock Smith and Idilla Browning Smith of Wheeler County. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Addis Keen; two brothers, W. A. Smith of Covinia, Calif. and J. W.
