                           John Milton "Bill" Smith

 John Milton (Bill) Smith, 59 of Rte. 4 Dublin, died Wednesday afternoon in a 
local hospital after a brief illness. He was born and reared in Laurens County, 
the son of the late Joseph Hugh Smith and Susie Gallagher Smith. Mr. Smith was 
manager of the Dublin Moose Lodge and a member of the Pine Forest United 
Methodist Church.

 Services were held today at 11:00am at the C. Homer Adams Chapel, Rev. James 
H. Rush and Rev. Dickie W. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Northview 
Cemetery.

 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Sanders Smith of Route 4 Dublin; 2 
daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Howard of Dublin and Mrs. Judy Wyre of Jacksonville, 
Fla.; 3 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Lewis Smith and Marshall Smith, both of 
Dublin; 2 sisters, Mrs. Sherman S. Sawyer and Miss Susie Smith, both of Dublin; 
and several other relatives.

 Adams Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
