Spivey Services for Charlie Eason Spivey, 90, of 1316 Hwy. 1999 South, Dublin, will be held at 11am Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. The Rev. W. E. Flanders and the Rev. Mike Wynne will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mr. Spivey was the son of the late J. A. (Sonny) and Martha Wood Spivey, was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He died Tuesday. Survivors include his wife, Inez of Dublin; four sons, Harold Spivey of Macon and Jimmy Spivey, Billy Spivey, and Tommy Spivey, all of Dublin; a brother, Alva Spivey of Minter; a sister, Rosella McLendon of Dublin; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Don Spivey, Bobby Jean Spivey, Larry McLendon, Ovid Spivey Jr., Wayne Wyatt, Ray Spivey, and James Spivey will serve as pallbearers. The body will be placed in the church an hour before services. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Spivey, 1390 Hwy. 319 North, Dublin, and will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, who has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Charlie was born 16 Apr 1904. His first wife was Elma Stewart Spivey who is also buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. His second wife was Inez Ken Spivey.
