(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 24, 2012, 6:21 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 3-23-1990 Millard Stanfield SOPERTON---- Services for Millard Earl Stanfield, 69, of Sarabel Avenue, will be held at 2pm Saturday in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home. The Rev. J. M. Carter and the Rev. Ken Wren will officiate. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Soperton. A native of Tattnall County, Mr. Stanfield was the son of the late Millard Elias Stanfield and the late Macy Lou Sheffield Stanfield Barrow. A resident of Soperton for the past 40 years, he was a World War II veteran, a retired employee of the Forestry Department, and a member of the VFW and Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Stanfield died Thursday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Lallie Johnson Stanfield of Soperton; two daughters, Beth Phillips of Soperton and Kathy Fountain of Mount Vernon; five sisters, Mrs. Dean Rowland of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary Wier and Ruth Crussel of Waycross, and Dollie Tucker and Bertha Mae Todd of Reidsville; a brother, Gene Barrow of Mount Holley, NC; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Randy Phillips, Billy Phillips, Jeff Johnson, Robert Cook, Charles Johnson, and Bobby Joe Cammack. Horace Powell, Jesse Wall, Bobby Joe Moxley, and G. W. Brady will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Millard was born 15 Feb 1921. Georgia death certificate #011129.
