Stevens, 68, of Cadwell, are to be held this afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at four o'clock with the Rev. James O. Gay officiating. Burial will be in Reedy Springs Church Cemetery and Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will include L. K. Keen, Johnny Patisual, Kelly C. Fordham, Edward Colter, Malcom Sanders, and James Brown. An honorary escort will be composed of Carlus Gay, L. K. Smith, W. A. Bedingfield, Clinton Warren, Warren Smith, Furman Daniels, Lamar Jones, Emmett Smith, and Doyce Monroe. Native of Baldwin County, Mr. Stevens was a retired employee of General Motors, Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of the late John William Stevens and the late Molly Lee Stevens and a member of the Cadwell Baptist Church. Mr. Stevens died unexpectedly Saturday in a local hospital after having been in ill health for several months. At the time of his death, he operated a general merchandise store in Cadwell. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Mullis Stevens of Cadwell; two sons, J. E. Stevens of Mentor Lake, ___ and J. H. Stevens of Ann Arbor, Mich.; four grandchildren and other relatives.
