                              Bassil L. Sweat
 Funeral services for Bassil L. Sweat, 55, of Dublin, Route One, will be held 
tomorrow at three pm in Poplar Springs North Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Danny Lindsey, the Rev. C. E. Vines, and the Rev. Tom Harrison officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery and Townsend Funeral Home will direct.
 Nephews Alton, Jack, Gene, Ben, Charlie, and Joseph Killingsworth will serve 
as pallbearers and an honorary escort will include Don Yancey, Judge W. H. 
White, F. F. Hester, Joe Adams, Gene Thomas, Carlus Gay, H. W. Wilder, and 
Cecil Woodard.
 The family will receive friends at Townsend Funeral Home tonight from seven 
until nine pm.
 A native of Johnson County, Mr. Sweat was the son of the late Charlie L. 
Sweat and Mattie Elizabeth Toler Sweat. He was a member of the Poplar Springs 
North Baptist Church, a carpenter by trade, and a veteran of World War II. He 
died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon at his home.
 His survivors are his widow Mrs.  Ester Gailord Sweat of Dublin; three sons, 
R. L. Sweat Jr. of Long Beach, Calif., Hulon Sweat of Douglasville, and Donald 
K. Brantley of Dublin; one daughter, Mrs. Lerner Lee Miller of Marietta; two 
brothers, the Rev. Tom Sweat of Dublin and G. L. Sweat of Washington, DC; 
three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Toler of Macon, Mrs. Myrtle Killingsworth, and Mrs. 
Bessie Mimbs of Dublin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
Bassil was born 8-10-1918. His first wife was Eula Mae Foskey Sweat. Georgia 
death certificate #012636.
