Thomas Taken By Death Funeral services were held Monday at 2pm at Carter's Chapel in Dublin, Ga. for John Wimber (Jack) Thomas, 63, of the Wilkinson Blvd., who died Saturday morning in a local hospital. He had been seriously ill since Wednesday when he was stricken with a severe attack of Illness. Mr. Thomas was a native of Lauren's County, Ga. and had lived here for 30 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a life member of Disabled American Veterans, in which he had held high local and state offices, and was a member of American Legion Post 23. Survivors include four brothers, William R. of Clinton, SC, Charlie and George of Rock Hill, SC, and C. B. Thomas of Greenwood, SC; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Webb of Gainesville, Fla and Mrs. Julia Sheppard of Dublin, Ga. Carothers Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Jack was born 26 Jul 1891 to Henry Jordan Thomas and Virginia "Virgie" Permelia Florence Stewart Tnomas.
