(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 31, 2012, 5:29 pm The Dublin Courier Herald, Dispatch & Press 5-25-1936 Mrs. Thomas Rites Today Aged Dublin Lady Died Sunday At Home Following Long Illness Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Thomas, 67, were to be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at Carter's Chapel, following her death at her home, 109 Gaines Street, Sunday afternoon after an illness of several months. The services were to be conducted by Rev. O. C. Cooper and Rev. R. Johnson. Mrs. Thomas was the widow of the late H. J. Thomas and spent her entire life here and in this county. She was a member of St. Paul Church. Surviving are six sons and three daughters; W. R. and F. H. Thomas of Clinton, SC; John W. Thomas, Gastonia, NC; C. B. Thomas, Dublin, Ga.; C. W. and G. M. Thomas of Whitmire, SC; Mrs. C. I. Webb and Mrs. J. B. Shepard of Dublin, Ga.; and Mrs. George M. Micheral of Lincolnton, NC; two brothers, three sisters, 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
