                     Mrs. Aughtie Thomas, Rockledge
 SOPERTON, Ga., April25---- Mrs. Aughtie Thomas, 64 of Route 1 Rockledge, died 
this morning in a Dublin hospital after an illness of one month. A lifetime 
resident of Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Neal Stewart and 
Elizabeth Bush Stewart. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and 
was the wife of Elder John M. Thomas, who survives her.
 Other survivors include one sons, Paul Thomas of Rockledge; six daughters, 
Mrs. Clayton Pope of Dublin, Mrs. Lonzt Chafin, Mrs. Will Chafin, Miss Ora 
Thomas, Rockledge, Mrs. D. B. Wilkes Jr., N. Augusta, SC, and Mrs. Billy 
Williams, Soperton; five stepsons, Kenneth, Alton and Coy Thomas, Warner 
Robins, Lonnie Thomas, Macon, Theron Thomas, Scott; three stepdaughters, Mrs. 
Maude Williamson, Lyons, Mrs. Ernest Crawford, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Jessie 
Foskey, Scott; three sisters, Mrs. Jake Young, Mrs. Charlie Thigpen, Rockledge 
and Mrs. Mary Hester, Dublin,
 Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm Thursday at the Rockledge Methodist 
Church with Elder S. M. Claxton, C. H. Radford, and Elder Ralph Riner 
officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Leaf Church Cemetery under the 
direction of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton.
 Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Additional Comments:
Auty was born 13 Mar 1894. Her first husband, Edward S. "Bud" Johnson is also 
buried at Silver Leaf Church Cemetery. Georgia death certificate #9168.
