He was born March 18, 1934, to the late Charlie and Grace Powell Thomas of Dublin. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kirk Bell; and a brother, Grable Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Jean Thomas of Nashville; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Rev. Clarence and Anna Thomas, Jr. of Ailey, Zayne Thomas, Victor Bell and Jimmy Baker, all of New haven, CT, and Dexter Bell of Nashville; daughter, Minister Sylvia Baker Lovingood of Fayetteville; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Nita Thomas; five sisters, Irene Moore, Juanita Payne, Maggie Wicker, Charlie Mae Arnold, Annette Byrd; sister-in-law, Margaret Bell; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held February 26 at Black and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Thomas, Jr., officiating. Interment was in St. James Cemetery. Black and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
