Thompson, 89, of Rentz Route 1, will be held at 2:00 o'clock at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Ed Lord and the Rev. Neal Wall are the officiating ministers and Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will include Billy Smith, Clyde Evans, Robert Baggett, Jack Thompson, Franklin Thomas, and Alfred Bryan. The body will lie in state in the church from 1 o'clock until funeral time. Mrs. Thompson died early Friday night at her home after having been in declining health for several years. She was a native of Wilkinson County, the daughter of Robert Williams and Fannie Caroline Grimsley Williams and widow of Jim Thompson. She was a member of the Plesant Hill Baptist Church. Her survivors are two sons, Arthur Lee Thompson, Rentz Route 1 and Harold Thompson of Rentz; four daughters, Mrs. J. O. Knight of Dublin, Mrs. Lola Gaillard of Whisler, Ala., Mrs. D. W. Glisson and Mrs. Helen Sapp of Cadwell; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Bell Touchberry of Waycross and Mrs. Janie Frazier of Oklahoma City, Okla. and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
