                        Arthur L. Tyson
 Services for Arthur L. Tyson, 79, of 206 Hobbins Drive, Dublin, were held at 
3pm Sunday at First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Jim Laymon, the Rev. 
Terry Soles, and the Rev. Doyle Smith officiated. Burial was in Northview 
Cemetery.
 A native of Johnson County, Mr. Tyson was the son of the late John W. Tyson 
Sr. and the late Sallie Cobb Tyson, and was married to the late Lucile Foskey 
Tyson. A resident of Laurens County most of his life, he was a retired auto 
dealer and was associated with the circulation department of The Courier 
Herald for a number of years. He was a member of the First Church of the 
Nazarene. Mr. Tyson died Friday night at his residence after an extended 
illness.
 Survivors include three daughters, Emily Davis, Carolyn Pheil, and Hazel 
Haywood, all of Dublin; two sons, James E. Price and Doc Price of Dublin; six 
brothers, John W. Tyson Jr. of Stone Mountain, Donald Tyson and Cecil Tyson of 
East Dublin, Charles Tyson of Pensacola, Fla., James Tyson of Florida, and 
Wilmer Tyson of Morrow; five sisters, Julie Bell Weaver of Ellijay, Dora Mae 
Melton and Betty Jean Thigpen of East Dublin, Teresa Wigley of Cincinatti, 
Ohio, and Patsy Burgess of Eagle Lake, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-
grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
 Grandsons served as pallbearers.
 Townsend Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
