(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 31, 2011, 4:41 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 10-9-1990 Johnny Tyson Services for Johnny Tyson, 55, of 207 Plum Street, Dublin, will be held at 11AM Thursday in the chapel of Stanley Funeral Home in Dublin. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery with full military honors. A native of Johnson County, Mr. Tyson was the son of the late John W. and Fannie Mae Bush Tyson. A resident of Mims, Fla. for several years, he was retired from the US Army and Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin. He was a Baptist and a member of the VFW and Laurens County Sportsman Club. Mr. Tyson died Sunday night at a Dublin hospital. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Tyson of Dublin; two daughters, Linda Lumley of Dublin and Vicky Tyson of Eustis, Fla.; a special son, Craig Simmons of Dublin; seven brothers, Arthur Tyson and James Tyson of Dublin, John W. Tyson of Stone Mountain, Wilmer Tyson of Morrow, Charles Tyson of Pensacola, Fla., and Cecil Tyson and Donald Tyson of East Dublin; five sisters, Julie Bell Weaver of Ellijay, Dora Mae Melton and Betty Jean Thigpen of East Dublin, Patsy Ann Burgess of Eagle Lake, Fla., and Teresa Wigley of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three grandchildren. The family will be at the Tyson home and will receive friends at 7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Johnny was born 29 Jun 1935. Georgia death certificate #038672.
