(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 6, 2011, 5:43 am The Dublin Courier Herald 7-24-1967 Front Page Rites Today For Mrs. Upshaw, Infant Daughter SOPERTON---Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Laverne Upshaw, 22, and her infant daughter, Tina Marie Upshaw of East Dublin will be held at 4:00pm today in the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Billy J. Todd and the Rev. James O. Gay will officiate with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Laurens County. Mrs. Upshaw died Saturday and her daughter died Sunday in a Dublin hospital. Pallbearers will be Johnny Andrews, Gary Frost, Clyde Bell, Billy Crooms, David Senn and Faris Senn. Mrs. Upshaw, a native of Laurens County, was a member of the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Gordon W. Upshaw of East Dublin; a son, Joe Mimbs of East Dublin; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Tyson of East Dublin; grandparents, George Tyson of Macon and Mrs. S. A. Bailey of Dublin. The infant's additional survivors include grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Upshaw of East Dublin and great-grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Register of Macon.
