(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 21, 2013, 8:56 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 8-8-1985 Mr. Wilkes Services for Woodrow Wilson "Bill" Wilkes, 72, of Route 2 Brewton Road Dublin, were scheduled for 2pm today in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating and burial in Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mr. Wilkes was the son of the late Simon Peter and Jenny Smith Wilkes. He was a retired farmer, was retired from the Laurens County Public Works Camp, and was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Wilkes died Wednesday morning at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Lois H. Wilkes of Dublin; two sons, William Murray Wilkes of Dublin and Franklin Wilkes of Eatonton; two grandsons, Jim Wilkes and Mike Wilkes, both of Dublin; and a niece. Pallbearers are Buddy Hester, Herbert Renfroe, Wyman Hester, Billy Dominy, Billy Daniel, and Leroy Graham. Additional Comments: Woodrow was born 10 Oct 1912. Georgia death certificate #027951.
