John Marvin Wood was born 3-12-1894 and died 11-2-1976 (GA DC# 034782) and is
buried at Pleasant Springs Cemtery in Laurens County. His second wife, Leonia
Graham Wood is also buried there.

John Marvin Wood

John Marvin Wood, 82, of Rockledge, died in a Macon hospital Tuesday, November
2, after a long illness.
Mr. Wood had lived most of his life in Laurens County and was the son of the
late Steve Wood and Ella Kite Wood. He was married to the late Mrs. Leona Graham
Wood and was a member of the Pleasant Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Grace Poole, Macon; Mrs. Johnnie Foskey, Dry
Branch; 2 sisters, Mrs. Susie Bell Warnock and Mrs. Lucille Beasley, Dublin; 2
brothers, David Wood, Macon; Eurice Wood, Newport News, Va.; 7 grandchildren and
a number of great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from Pleasant Springs Baptist Church at 3
o'clock Thursday afternoon, Nov. 4, with the Rev. Douglas Bush officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Hershel Johnson, Edsel Senn, Walter Wynn, Cecil Graham, Hershel
Wynn, and B. W. Joiner.
