Black last year. Mr. and Mrs. Shivers were here this week receiving congratulations and good wishes Mrs. Shivers affected several toilettes that were greatly admired. Dublin – One of the pretty events of the season was the marriage of Miss Jennie Clyde Black to Mr. Odis Leaston Shivers, of Harrison, at half past four o’clock at the First Baptist Church. The church was beautifully decorated with ferns and southern smilax. The color scheme of white and green being carried. Just before the bridal party entered the church, Miss Susie Smith sang, “O Promise Me”. As Miss Nelle Mozley, of Marietta began the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march the bridal party entered the church in the following order: Ribbon bearers Little Misses Ruby and Mary Bass, Miss Ollie Donaldson and Miss Lucile Ehney. Next came the ushers, Mr. Peter Twitty and Mr. Charles Wood. The flowers girls following. The bride entered with her maid of honor, Miss Marie Patillo, and she was met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Mr. B.L. Jenks of Jackson. Rev. Allen Fort performing the ceremony. The bride’s gown was of callot satin hand embroidered, with a hat to match. She carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses. Miss Patillo wore a white directoire gown and carried an armful of white carnations. The bridal party left on the 5:30 train for Harrison, where a reception was given them.
