Submitted by: Helen Sharpe Turn1104@aol.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will of Jesse Joiner Laurens County, Georgia Dated, 27 Aug 1827 Proved Jan 1837 In the name of Gold Amen, I Jesse Joiner of the county of Laurens, State of Georgia being weak in body but of sound mind sence and memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last will and testament in form and manner following to wit: I give my Soul to Almighty god that gave it to me and my body to be buryed at the discresions of my executors here after mentioned in my will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral charges be first paid and then all the rest of my estate to be disposed of in form and maner following (Item) I give and bequeath to my dear and well beloved wife Rebecca Joiner all the goods and chattels lands and tenaments and stock of kinds that she was ceased and possessed with at the time we were married and half the increase of the said stock and one fourth part of the crop I have made this year (Item) I give and bequeath to my sons Benett Joiner Davis Joiner and my daughter Zilla Wells one lot of land in third District Muscogee County lot Number seventy to be equally divided between themselves and their heirs for ever. Also to my son Bennett Joiner one feather bed and furniture and one half of my shop tools and the other half of my shop tools and own feather bed he has now in possession to my son Davis Joiner and to my daughter Zillah Wells two feather beds and furniture to her and her heirs forever lawfull begotton of her body and all the remainder part of my estate both in door and out doors and stock of all kinds that I am possessed with and what money in hand and ??tes.to be equally divided between my three children Benett Joiner, Davis Joiner and Zillah Wells to them and their heirs forever and if my Daughter Zillah Wells should die without an heir her part of my estate to return back to my sons Benet and Davis Joiners to they and their heirs forever and I do hereby constitute and appoint my two sons Benet Joiner and Davis Joiner my Executors to this my last will and testament in witnesseth where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this the twenty seventh day of August 1827 Signed Jesse Joiner Test Burrell (B his mark) McLendon Stephen (his mark) Woolf Mahala (her mark) Joiner Georgia Laurens County Court of ordinary January 1837 The within will of Jesse Joiner was produced in open court and proved by the oaths of Stephen Woolf & Burrell McLendon and ordered to be recorded.
