A native of Nashville, he moved to Albany in 1970 and to Lee County 20 years ago. He retired with the Georgia State Patrol as Chief License Examiner in 1993. He was a member of Vickers Baptist Church in Berrien County and attended Southside Baptist Church in Albany. Survivors include his wife, Frances Ivey Lindsey of Lee County; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Terrie Lindsey of Lee County; a daughter and son-in- law, Tracy and Tim Flanagan of Mitchell County; three grandchildren, Shawn Sheffield, Morgan Horbosky and Shannon Lindsey; two step-grandchildren, Cade Sheffield, Lena Sheffield, and Kennedy Sheffield. Funeral services were held March 27 at 11 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Suggs, Mike Carter, Clifton Elmore and Mr. Frank Hall officiating. Interment followed at Leesburg Cemetery. Mathews Funeral Home of Albany was in charge of arrangements.
