Mrs. Ruby S. Carpenter
  Mrs. Ruby S. Carpenter, 80, of Providence Nursing Home, died Friday, Sept. 
1, 1989 at the Upson County Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at the 
chapel of Coggins Funeral Home Saturday, Sept. 2 at 2 p.m.
  The Revs. Joe Allen and Jimmy Baughcum will officiate.  Interment will be 
held in Mt. Pisgah Cemetary in Butler.
  Mrs. Carpenter was a weaver at the Thomaston Mills.
  She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Ellington of Leesburg; son, Mr. 
Paul Carpenter of Thomaston; brother, Mr. Paul Smith of Butler; sister, Mrs. 
Thelma Baughcum of Thomaston.  Eight grandchildren and five great 
grandchildren also survive.
