Rev. Ronald R. Baxley will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery A lifelong resident of Albany, Mr Young was a graduate of Albany Highschool, and retired from the US Post Office .He served in the US Army, was a member of Albany Kiwanis Club and was active in the Lee County Georgia Historical Society (And the Southwest Georgia Genealogical Society). Mr. Young was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son Joel B. Young, a step-son William Hammond, a step daughter Elaine Hammond Bell, and a brother Thomas R. Young. Survivors include his wife, Faith Young of Albany, a son, Trent Young of Leesburg, a daughter, Donna Young Crow of Albany, a step-son, Ricky Hammond and his wife Marilyn of Leesburg, a step-daughter, Lyn Hammond Gray and her husband Rubel of Atlanta, three sisters, Lucile Williams of Lee County, Ruth Robinson of Albany and Mary Stokes of Columbus, a brother Roy Eugene “Gene” Young and his wife Ann of Albany, twenty one grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child. The family will gather at Ricky and Marilyn’s residence following the interment (address withheld for privacy).
