All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 October 26, 2009, 9:10 pm Written: February 1, 1766 Recorded: December 20, 1769 Colonial Deed Book U, pp. 590-591 Georgia This Indenture made the first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & sixty six Between Francis Arthur of St. John’s Parish in the province aforesaid planter of the one part and Samuel Bacon of Saint John’s Parish in the Province aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Francis Arthur for & in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds good and lawful money of great Britain to him paid in hand be the said Samuel Bacon at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents for the absolute purchase of two Lots of land in the town of Sunbury known by the numbers forty two & forty three with all and singular the Improvements therein the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof and of every part & parcel thereof the said Francis Arthur doth acquit & discharge the said Samuel Bacon his heirs Executors & administrators and for other good Causes & considerations him the said Francis Arthur thereunto moving hath granted bargained sold aliened and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Samuel Bacon all the two lotts of land in the town of Sunbury as aforesaid together with all & singular the Improvements thereon & the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof all the Estate right title interest property claim & demand of him the sd. Francis Arthur of in & to the same to have & to hold the sd. two lots of land & all & singular the premises aforesaid with their & every of their appurtenances unto the sd Samuel Bacon and his heirs to the only use & Behoof of the said Samuel Bacon his heirs and assigns forever all and singular the premises with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Bacon his heirs & assigns against him the sd. Francis Arthur his heirs and assigns and all persons whomsoever claiming or to claim by for or under him or any of them shall and will warrant & for ever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents interchangeably set their hands & seals the day & year first above written Sealed & Delivered In the presence of Francis Arthur Fras.
