Colonial Deed Book V, p. 87

Georgia

	This Indenture made the twelfth Day of January in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and seventy and in the tenth year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and
Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth Between Samuel Bacon of Saint
Johns parish in the province of Georgia Planter of the one part and Palmer
Goulding of the said parish and province Planter of the other part Witnesseth
that the said Samuel Bacon for and in consideration of ten shillings _____ money
to him in hand paid by the said Palmer Goulding at or before the ensealing and
Delivery here of the Receipt whereof the said Samuel Bacon doth here by
acknowledge hath bargained and sold and by these presents Dot bargain and sell
unto the said Palmer Goulding his Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns a
certain parcel or Tract of Land containing about five hundred acres more or Less
situate lying and being in Saint Johns parish and province aforesaid bounded
North by Land of Audley Maxwell East by Land of Kenneth Baillie and Robert Carr
South by Land of Robert Carr and Land of John Goulding and West by Land now of
John Goulding together with all the houses out houses Edifices Buildings yards
gardens Fences ways paths passages Trees Woods Wells Water Courses profits
Commodities Instruments (?) Hereditaments and appertenances Whatsoever thereunto
belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the said plantation or
tract of five hundred acres of Land and other the premises hereby bargained and
sold and meant and intended to be bargained and sold with their and every of
their appurtenances unto the said Palmer Goulding his heirs Executors
Administrators and assigns from the Day ___ before the day of the date of these
presents for and during the fall time and unto the End and term of one whole
year from thence next ensuing fully to be Compleate and ended Yielding and
paying therefore unto the said Samuel Bacon the Rent of one pepper Corn on the
Last Day of the said Term if the same shall be Lawfully Demanded to the and same
purpose that the said Palmer Goulding by Virtue hereof and of the Statute for
transferring Uses into Possession may be in the actual possession of the
premises and be enabled to accept and take a grant and Release of the Reversion
and Inheritance thereof to him the said Palmer Goulding his heirs and assigns
for ever In Witness whereof the said Samuel Bacon hath here unto set his hand
and seal the day and year first above written –
