Georgia
	This Indenture made the Twenty Second day of January in the Fifth year of the
reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great
Britain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith and so forth in the year
of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Two Between Harriett Crooke of
the parish of Christ Church in the province of Georgia widow the acting
Executrix of and under the last will and Testament of Edmund Tennatt late of
Savannah in the parish and province aforesaid Esquire deceased of the one hand
and Lydia Sanders of the parish of Saint John in the province aforesaid widow of
the other hand Whereas his late Majesty King George the Second by his Royal
Grant under the Great Seal of the said province of Georgia bearing date on or
about the Eighth day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven
hundred did or his Special grace certain Knowledge and meer motion give and
Grant to the said Edmund Tannatt his Heirs and assigns all that Tract of Land
Containing Five hundred acres situate and being in the district of Newport in
the province of Georgia aforesaid bounded Easterly by land of Thomas and William
Carr on the northwest by Land of Josiah Osgood and Joseph Winn Southwest by Land
of William Peacock and South East by Land of Captain James Read having such
shape Form and marks as appears by a platt thereof to the said Grant annexed
together with the Hereditaments priviledges and appurtenances thereunto
belonging To hold the said Tract of Land and premises with the appurtenances
thereby Granted unto the said Edmund Tannatt his Heirs and assigns for ever in
free and Common Soccage as in and by the Said Grant duly registered in the
office of the Register of Grants in the said province the Eighteenth day of
November in the said year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty Six
in Book A page 233 reference thereunto being had may more fully appear and
whereas the said Edmund Tannatt in and by his said last Will and Testament
bearing date on or about the fifth day of September in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty did authorize and impower his Executrix and
Executor therein named to sell and dispose of all or any one of his Tracts of
Land in the Said province of Georgia as by the Said last will and Testament of
the Said Edmund Tannatt remaining in the office of the Secretary of the Said
province relation thereunto being had may also appear Now this Indenture
Witnesseth that the said Harriett Crooke the acting Executrix of and under the
said last will and Testament of the said Edmund Tannatt for and in Consideration
of the sum of Sixty pounds Current money of the said province of Georgia to her
in Hand paid by the said Lydia Sanders at or before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof the said Harriett Crooke doth acknowledge and
thereof and from every part and parcel thereof doth hereby acquit release and
discharge the said Lydia Sanders her heirs Executors and Administrators by these
presents hath granted bargained sold aliened romised released and Confirmed and
by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien romise release and Confirm unto
the said Lydia Saunders (in her actual possession now being by virtue of a
Bargain and sale to her thereof made for one whole year by Indenture bearing
date the day next before the day of the date of these presents and by force of
the statute for transferring uses into possession) and to her heirs and assigns
all that the aforesaid Tract of Land containing five Hundred acres situate and
being in the district of Newport in the province of Georgia aforesaid bounded
Easterly by Land of Thomas and William Carr on the North west by Land of Josiah
Osgood and Joseph Winn South west by land of William Peacock and South East by
Land of Capt James Read at the time of the Survey thereof made having such shape
form and marks as appear by a platt thereof to the said Grant thereof annexed
together with all houses Buildings improvements Hereditaments Priviledges and
appurtenances whatsoever on the Said land being and made or to the Same
belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder
and remainders rents Issues and profits of all and singular the said premises
and of every part and parcel thereof And all the Estate Right Title Interest use
Trust possession property Claim and Demand whatsoever of her the said Harriett
Crooke under and virtue of the said will and Testament of the said Edmund
Tannatt or otherwise howsoever of in or to the said Tract of Five hundred acres
of Land and premises or any part of parcel thereof together with all Deeds
Evidences and writings whatsoever Touching or concerning the said premises on
any part or parcel thereof which the said Harriett Crooke hath in her Custody or
power or which she can or may come by without suit in Law or Equity To have and
to hold the said Tract of Five hundred acres of land and all and singular other
the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be hereby Granted and
released with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Lydia Sanders
her heirs and assigns To the only proper use and Behoof of the said Lydia
Sanders her Heirs and assigns absolutely forever and the said Harriett Crooke
her heirs Executors and administrators the said hereby Granted and released
premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said
Lydia Sanders her heirs and assigns against the said Harriett Crooke her heirs
Executors and admrs and against the heirs of the said Edmund Tannatt shall and
will warrant and forever defend by these presents and the said Harriett Crooke
for herself her Heirs Executors and administrators doth hereby covenant promise
and agree to and with the said Lydia Sanders her Heirs and assigns in manner and
form following that is to say that she the said Lydia Sanders her Heirs and
assigns shall or Lawfully may from time to time and at all timer hereafter
peaceably and Quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the said Tract of Five
hundred acres of Land and all and singular the premises above mentioned or
intended to be hereby Granted and released with their and every of their
appurtenances and receive and take the rents issues and profits thereof and of
every part thereof to her and their own proper use and behoof without any
Lawfull Let Suit Trouble Denial Eviction Ejection or interruption of or by the
said Harriett Crooke her Heirs Executors or administrators or of or by the Heirs
of the said Edmund Tannatt and that Free and Clear and Freely clearly and
absolutely acquitted and

discharged or otherwise well and sufficiently saved defended Kept harmless and
indemnified by the said Harriett Crooke her Heirs Executors or administrators of
from and against all and all manner of former and other and other Bargains Sales
Gifts Grants Feoffments Dowers and Titles of Dower Wills Mortgages Judgements
Executions and of and from all other Estates Troubles charges and incumbrances
whatsoever had made committed done or supposed by the said Harriett Crooke or by
the said Edmund Tannatt and further that the said Harriett Crooke her Heirs
Executors and administrators and all and every other person and persons having
or lawfully claiming or which can or may have or Lawfully claim any Estate right 
Title Interest Benefit or demand of in to or out the said Tract of Five hundred
acres of Land and premises herein before mentioned or intended to be hereby
granted and released or any part or parcel thereof by from or under the said
last Will and Testament of the said Edmund Tannatt shall and will from time to
time and at all times hereafter at the reasonable request and Costs and Charges
in the Law of the Land Lydia Saunders her Heirs or assigns make do and execute
or Cause or procure to be made done and executed all and every such further and
other Lawfull and reasonable acts Matters and Things Deeds Conveyances and
assurances in the law whatsoever for the further better and more perfect
assuring and Conveying the said Tract of Five hundred acres of Land and other
the premises hereby Granted and released or means mentioned or intended so to be
with their and every of their rights Members and appurtenances unto the said
Lydia Sanders her Heirs and assigns for ever as by the said Lydia Sanders her
Heirs or assigns or her or their Counsel shall be reasonable devised advised or
required
In Witness whereof the said parties aforesaid to these presents their Hands and
seals have Interchangeably set the day and year first above written

Received on the day of the date of the within written deed of and from the
within named Lydia Sanders the sum of Sixty Pounds Lawfull money of Great
Britain being the Consideration money therein Expressed to be by her paid to me

Samuel Farley of Savannah in the province of Georgia Gentleman one of the
Subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed maketh oath that he was present and did
see the within named Harriet Crook sign seal and as her act and deed deliver the
within written release and also saw the said Harriett Crooke sign her name to
the Receipt and indorsed on the Back of the said Release and that he this
despondent and Alexander Wylly of Savannah aforesaid Esquire subscribed their
names as witnesses thereto
