All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 October 27, 2009, 2:01 pm Written: January 5, 1769 Recorded: January 11, 1770 Colonial Deed Book V, pp. 21-22 This Indenture Made the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty nine and in the ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Irland King Defender of the faith and so forth Between Samuel Jones Planter of the Parish of St John and Province aforesaid of the one part and James Andrew Planter of Newport and Same parish and province of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Jones for and in consideration of the Sum of five shillings Sterling to him in hand well and truly paid by the said James Andrew at or before the Sealing and Delivering of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and Confessed Hath Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents Doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto the said James Andrew his heirs executors Administrators and Assigns all that Tract of four hundred Acres of Land Situate on a Branch of North Newport River in St Andrews Parish and aforesaid province and is Butting and Bounding to the North on Lands laid out unto Lydia Sanders to the South on Lands of the Said James Andrew and to the East and West on vacant land and hath such shape and form as is Expressly Laid Down in a Plann of the same Rotation being thereunto had more fully appears and also all and singular the Gardens orchard fences ways wells water watercourses Easment Proffits Commodities advantages Instruments heriditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the same Belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and remainders thereof and of every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold the said tract of four hundred acres of Land as aforesaid and all and singular and other the premises herein before mentioned and Intended to be hereby Granted Bargained and Sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the Said James Andrew his heirs and assigns forever from the Day of the Date of these presents for and During and until the full the full end and term of one whole year from thence next Ensuing and fully to be Completed and Ended yielding and paying there for unto the Said Samuel Jones his heirs or assigns the Rent of one pepper corn only on the Last day of the said term of the Same Shall be Demanded to the Intent and purpose that by Virtue of this present Bargain and Sell and by force of the Stature for Transfering over into possession the said James Andrew May be in the Actual Posession of the said Tract of four hundred acres of Land and all and singular and other the Premises herein before mentioned and may thereby be Enabled to accept and take a grant thereof to him the said James Andrew his heirs and assigns forever by Indenture Intended to be made Between the said Samuel Jones and Rebekah Jones his wife of the one part and the said James Andrew of the other part and to bear date the day next after the Day of the date of these presents In Witness whereof the parties have here unto Sett their hands and seals the Day and year above Written Sealed and Delivered in presence of Jonathan Searth William Searth Saml Jones Rebecca Jones Recorded the 11th of Janur 1770 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/liberty/deeds/jones191ndd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 4.0 Kb
