DUNLEVIE LUMBER COMPANY SAWMILL 
AT ALLENHURST, GA 
 
This 1912 Photograph of the Dunlevie Lumber Company Allenhurst Mill that was 
reported to have been the second largest sawmill in the United States at 
that time. Reported Construction cost of over 1.0 Million dollars.  Dunlevie 
Lumber Company employed hundreds and was by far Liberty County's largest 
employer at that time, with an annual payroll of over $250,000.  It ceased 
operations in the 1920's.
