Jennings of Nottoway Co., State of Virginia in U.S.A., North America, do hereby certify that I was born in October, 1789, now 84 years lacking two months. I was married 26 Jan. 1815 to Nancy Robertson of Nottoway Co., Va. My Father was John Jennings. He was a son of Wm. Jennings, Jr. and he a son of Wm. Jennings, Sr. of 1775. He was a son of Humphrey Jennings, Sr. of 1690, and he was a son of John Jennings, 1651. The last from Family Tradition. My father married Mary or Mollie Beasley. My grandfather , Wm. Jennings, Jr., married a Dickerson. My great-grandfather, Wm. Jennings, Sr. of 1775; married Mary Pulliam. My great, great, grandfather John Jennings married Joyce Weamer from Tradition. Moody Jennings on Tax List of Wilkes Co., Ga. 1787. 1790 among Jurors for Wilkes Co., May Term From “Jennings and Allied Familes ; Va.” p.403 “Moody Jennings resided in the northern part of Wilkes County on land inherited from his father. When Lincoln Co. was set off from Wilkes in 1796, his plantation became a part of the new county. He appears in the court records of Lincoln Co., in 1801, when he executes a deed to his brother, Thomas Jennings. While a resident of Lincoln Co., in 1804, he had two draws in the Land Lottery of 1805. (Also Robt.) 1833 Charles guardian to Elijah and Keziah Jeter, daughter of Thomas James Jennings: Served as Pvt. In Capt. Peter Lamar’s Company, Ga. Militia War of 1812. S. O. 24483 S.C. 20365 * 7 Jan. 1851 James Jennings, age 51, resident of Lincoln Co., Ga. Filed bounty land application for War of 1812 service. He declared that he was drafted at Lincolnton, Ga. About 12 Nov. 1814 in Capt. Peter Lamar’s Co, Regt. Of Militia commanded by Col. David Boothe. While crossing the Mobile Oakmulgee River, on march, he declared that he rec’d. an accidental wound in his right arm, but continued with the company to Fort Mitchell, where he remained in the hospital until sometime in Feb. of 1815, when he was discharged because of being incapable of further service. “ James Jennings 1843; 1845 State Representative Lincoln Co. Note* Charles Jennings & wife Nancy had 9 nine children….one of whom was; Prudence S. Jennings married George Marable on 26 September, 1831 in Clarke County, Georgia. She died before 1842. She had two children: John Jennings Marable b. 1833 Monroe, Walton Co., Ga. M. Clara P. Baird Floyd Co., Ga. 15 Feb., 1853 Prudence Lucy Marable b. 1835 Monroe, Walton Co., Ga. Dr. Patrick T. Briscoe 24 May 1853. M. The minor children of George Marable and Prudence S. Prudence Jennings married John Sikes and moved to Arkansas.
