Jackson 100A of land. Disc; Robert Chappell on the north, William Chappell on the east, Josiah Stoval on the south and Jones on the west. Wit: David Glaze, JP; Archibald Stinson and Wm. Walton. Registered Feb. 18, 1807, pp193-195 (Linc CO Gen & Hist), This indicates William bo't land adjoining his own land on the west, and that he was now next door neighbor to Robert, his father. 1821 Dec 11: Georgia, Morgan CO, William Chappell of Morgan CO purchased land in Walton CO from John Dawson. 250 acres, in the ___ District known in the plan of the district by No. forty four. Witnesses: Jesse Gum (Gunn), Samuel Skidmore and Alvan Myhand containing one hundred twenty five acres paying four hundred Dollars to him. Signed: George Willingham, Witnesses: William Jackson and Edward (X) Adcock 1821 Dec 25 Georgia, Walton CO: William Chappell of Morgan Co, purchased from George Willimgham of Walton CO, half of a certain lot of land drawn by Moses F Carter in the Fourth distribution of Walton CO number Two Hundred and sixty five the dividing line William Chappell et al, Walton Co, Land for church, 31 Dec 1824: 1824 Dec 31 Walton Co, GA: This Indenture made the thirty first day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred twenty four Between William Edwards and Penny Edwards his wife of the State of Georgia and County of the one part and William Chappell Thomas Hancock John C Shipp Edward Adcock and M___ Twiter..($100). ... built thereon a house or place of Worship for the aide of Members of the Methodist Episcopal Church ... (Document on file) The contract continues with an article concerning the holding and possibly sale of the above property and the conditions under which such actions are to be governed. As I understood it, the land could not be sold for at least one year, then only through the direction of the pastor and congregation.
