I ROBERT WALTON being afflicted at this time and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die and that my age and afflictioins are such that I do not expect to live long, I feel disposed while of sound and disparing memory to dispose of my propertythat I have been blessed with in the following manner; Item 1st. It is my will that my executor hereafter named first pay off my just debets as soon as possible. Item 2nd. I give and bequeth to my beloved wife, DOROTHY WALTON during her natural life the following property to wit, The plantation whereon I now live and also the following negroes to wit CAROLINE and her Children to wit FRANKLIN, ROSETTA, STEPNA(spellig?), and Tim and Cher and their increase also MEALINDA and her increase also a man BILL and a man ALPHONSE(spelling?) and the whole of my household and Kitchen furniture, my stock of mules and horses, stock of hogs and cattle and sheep, my crop of corn, wheat, oats, fodder and enough food for stock. Potatoes and c(orn?). Blacksmith tools and should any of my different kind of stock increase beyond the wants of my wife my Executors with the consent of my wife may dispose of the same to the best advantage of my Estate. Item 3. I Have heretofore given to my Son, OLIVER WALTON, in property and money the Sum of Fifteen hundred dollars. I confirm that gift. It is my will that after my chlidren as follows, to wit, THOMAS WALTON, FAYETTE WALTON, MARIA JENNING by truste and Amanda Walton by trustee and the Children of LOUISA PASCHAL excepting one share only all have an equal amount with that some of them have married as hereafter named have S??___ the amount to fifteen hundred in property or money than my son OLIVER is to come in for his equal share of the balance of my estate. Item 4. I have given to my Son THOMAS WALTON a negro man valued at seven hundred dollars. I confirm that gift and it is my will that he come in for his equal share of ^the balance^ of my estate as in the third item of this will. Item 5. I bequeth to my son, Fayette, the choice of a negro at valuation and that he come in for an eequal share of the balance of my estate as in the third item of this will. Item 6. I have given to my daughter, LOUISA PASCHAL while in life a negro Girl, COPEY(spelling?) valued at six hundred dollars. I confirm that gift. It is my will that the children to wit WILLIAM ROBERT and GEORGE PASCHAL shall come in for one share only of the balance of my estate. Item 8(?) (*I believe he missed a numbersrc) I give and bequeth to my Son, FAYETTE WALTON in trust for my Daughter MARIA JENNINGS a negro woman by name of MARY and her two children by name MARY ANN and AMY and their increase valued at six hundred dollars and I do also bequeath to my Son, FAYETTE in trust for my daughter MARIA aforesaid and her bodily heirs an equal portion of the balance of my estate as in the third item of this will to their use and benefit. Item 9. I give and bequeath to my Son, FAYETE WALTON in trust for my daughter, ALETHA WALTON the choice of a negro at valuation and I do also bequeath as ____? an equal share of the balance of my estate to my said daughter as intended in the third clause of this will. Item 10. I give and bequeath to my Son, SIMEON WALTON the choice of a negro at Valuation and also an equal share of the balance of my estate as named in the third clause of this will. Item 11. I give and bequeath to my son FAYETTE WALTON in trust for my daughter ELIZABETH WALTON the choice of a negro at Valuation and her equal share of my estte as named in the third clause of the will to be held in trust for her use and benefit. Item 12. I give and bequeath to my son FAYETTE WALTON in trust for my daughter AMANDA WALTON the choice of a negro at valuation and also her equal shae of the balance of my estate writen in the third Item of this will for her slole benefit. It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife the property bequeathed to her be equally divided between my children as herein named to wit OLIVER WALTON, THOMAS WALTON, FAYETTE WALTON, the children of LOUISA PASCHAL, Fayette Walton Trustee for MARIA JENNINGS, Fayette Walton trustee for ALETHA WALTON, SIMEON WALTON, Fayette Walton Trustee for ELIZABETH WALTON, Fayette Walton Trustee for AMANDA WALTON share and share alike the chidren of Louisa Paschal having only one share. Item 15. If either of my children die before they arrie at age or without issue that property bequeathed to them shall revert to my Estate and be equally divided between my children named in the Fourteenth Item of this my will. I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife, DOROTHY WALTON, my son FAYETTE WALTON and my son SIMEON WALTON (when he arrives at lawful age) Executors to this my last Will ad Testament, ____? all other Wills heretofore made in my name whatever. Signed Sealed and Pronounced in the presence of us this twentyeighth day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty seven. Item. I have given to my daughter HARRIET CURRY a negro Girl DELIA & child MARTHA. I confirm that gift and it is my will that my daughter HARRIET have nothing more of my estate.
