THOMAS WEYMAN HOUSTON 
 
This photo was taken 
sometime before 1864 of my Great Grandfather, Thomas Weyman Houston 
(1826-1864) who served in Company K 5th Georgia Cavalry.  He paid the 
supreme price for his beloved Southland at Kennesaw Mountain and is burried 
in the Confederate Cemetery there. At the time of his death, he resided in 
that part of McIntosh County that became Long County.  His widow, Esther 
Baggs Houston raised Seven children .
