Francis John CHAPMAN II, born 26 Feb 1839, died 13 Jan 1934 and was buried in 
Baggs Cem., Long, Georgia. Francis married Matilda A. BAGGS on 27 Sep 1863.  He 
had two other wives after that (see notes).



Additional Comments:
Francis John Chapman (CJF) was married three times:  His first wife was Matilda 
Baggs, daughter of William and Charity Hope Baggs, and granddaughter of 
immigrant Archibald Baggs and Hanna Esther Dennison Baggs.  His second wife, 
Hettie Coats Baggs Johnston, was the widow of Isham L. Johnston and the 
daughter of Archibald James Baggs, Sr. brother of William Baggs.  His third 
wife, Hettie Baggs, was a daughter of William Riley Baggs, son of Archibald 
James Baggs, Sr.   Sarah Smith was mother of Hettie.  His name should be John 
Francis Chapman according to a granddaughter, 3/2/1991
