William Wesley Dowling was born August 14, 1816 and lived in the Barnwell 
District of South Carolina. He was married to Ardelia Frier on February 8, 1838
in Lowndes County, Georgia. William Wesley Dowling died on January 12, 1884 
and was buried at an unknown site in Lowndes County, Georgia.

His children were:

William Henry Taylor Dowling born January 19, 1849 and died November 6, 1948
Virginia Caroline Dowling born March 26, 1867 and died August 21, 1942
John M. Dowling born January 1842 and died (unknown date)
Sarah Ann E. Dowling born July 1846 and died (unknown date)
Mary E. Dowling born April 28, 1851 and died (unknown date)
Jane Amanda Dowling born January 10, 1854 and died (unknown date)
Julia A. Samantha Dowling born May 10, 1857 and died (unknown date)
James Dennis Dowling born September 25, 1859 and died (unknown date)
Samuel Leonard Dowling born January 20, 1862 and died (unknown date)
Ryan Eli Dowling born January 12, 1870 and died (unknown date)


Additional Comments:
William Henry Taylor Dowling, one of William Wesley Dowling's sons, fought in 
the Civil War, was one of the final national commanders of The United 
Confederate Veterans and the last resident of the Confederate Soldiers Home in 
Atlanta, Georgia.
