Author: Henry McDonald

Oliver Rivers McDonald was born on February 16, 1918 in High Springs, Florida, 
but also lived in Valdosta, Georgia during his early life. He was married to
Jane Evelyn Scott on March 4, 1942. They were married 44 years before Jane 
passed away in 1986. 

Oliver entered the U.S. Army in 1940 and was attached to an infantry division 
for two years before being transferred to an armored division in 1942 and 
remained until 1946. He served in France and Germany. 

From 1947 to 1968 he was a medical materials supervisor and worked for NASA in 
astronaut recovery. 

Oliver has three children: Susan, Margaret and Mary Lou.
