He came with his father to Pulaski County, Georgia in 1800. He served in the Pulaski County Militia in 1814. Benjamin moved to Irwin County where he married Jensey Stephens on August 23, 1821. Later he moved to Lowndes County in 1825. He served on the Lowndes County Militia, along with his brother, William in 1838. Benjamin McDonald won land in the 1832 Gold Lottery. He sold it a year later to William Smith for $300.00. Benjamin and Jensey lived the rest of their lives at Cat Creek in Lowndes County, Georgia. They are interred at the Cat Creek Baptist Cemetery on land donated by his brother, William. Additional Comments: Benjamin was the son of Isham McDonald, a first generation immigrant from Ireland, and who fought in the American Revolution.
