Lowndes County Georgia Cemetery Little River File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Sheree Robinette" Table of Contents page: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/crawford.htm Georgia Table of Contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm Little River Cemetery Location: Little River in Snake Nation near Shiloh in what is now Lowndes County. Probably Burials... Sarah Ann Elizabeth Pitts 1838 in Calhoun County, Georgia. ks Did in Colquitt County about age 70. (about 1908). She was buried in the Little River Cemetery as were her parents. Her father was Robert G. (or J. ) Pitts. North or South Carolina about 1813. He married Jerusha Mearton (I think this surname is incorrect, but this is how it is listed on their marriage certificate) January 16, 1834 in Lowndes county, Alabama. Robert died between 1870-1880 in Brooks County, Georgia. Jerusha appears in the 1880 mortality index as a widow. I know she died in 1880 and the cemetery was already in use. Little River was a wagon Road....so perhaps there are even older graves there. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
