Valdosta Dailey Times - April 8, 2006
 Mavis Croft Copeland, 78, of Valdosta, died on Friday, April 7, 2006, after a 
lengthy illness.
 Born in Colquitt Co., on September 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late 
Chester L. and Nina McCoy Croft. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity 
Baptist Church.
 Survivors are her grandchildren, Laura and Mitch Cothron of Lake Park, John 
and Tonya Braswell of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Triston Kyle Braswell, 
Leacy Anne Cothron, Christopher John Braswell, Tripp Cothron, all of Valdosta; 
brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Cue Croft of Frostproof, FL, Andy and 
Doris Croft of Nashville, Pat and Betty Croft of Morven, sister Ruth Humphrey 
of Valdosta, sister-in-law, Dorothy Croft of Pavo; several nieces and nephews. 
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny P. Copeland,  
daughter, Linda Shear and a brother, Milton Croft.
 Services will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of 
the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
 The Rev. Alton Hardee will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery 
in Quitman.
