  George W. Fowler, 79, of Valdosta died September 15, 2007 at his residence.
  Born July 7, 1928 in Columbia, SC to the late Clair W. and Blonie Crout 
Fowler, he served five years in the U.S. Navy and was retired from the U.S. Air 
Force. He was also retired as vice president of Atlantic Gulf Icing. He was of 
the Baptist faith and was a volunteer for ten years for the American Red Cross 
at Moody Air Force Base Hospital.
  Survivors include his wife, Margaret Richards Fowler of Valdosta; daughters 
and sons-in-law, Penny and Jose Foiles of Chicago, IL, Wanda and Ray Mason of 
Myrtle Beach, SC, Ester and Gene Williams of Pasadena, TX; sons and daughters-
in-law, George Frank and Jeanette Fowler of Lufkin, TX, Robert Dale and Martie 
Fowler of  Dallas, TX, Dr. James Allen Stevick of Forsyth, Christian Matthew 
and Jennifer Stevick of Valdosta; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one 
brother, Donnie Fowler of Chicopee, MA; uncle and aunt, Lee and Nina Fowler of 
Zephyrhills, FL.
  A memorial service was held Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with Woody Vaughn officiating.
  Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
