 Kenneth Ervin “Ken” Garren, 72, of Valdosta died March 2, 2014, at his 
residence surrounded by his family and friends.
 He was born June 7, 1941, in Murphy, NC, to the late Edgar and Christine 
Hensley Garren. He was a retired director with the Valdosta-Lowndes County 
Economic Development Authority He was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist 
Church and a United States Air Force veteran.
 Survivors include his wife, Helen Gaskins Garren of Valdosta; two sons and one 
daughter-in-law, Kenny and Heather Garren of Winder and Keven Garren of 
Valdosta; two grandchildren, Hannah Lyn Garren and Caleb Garren.
 Funeral services were held March 5 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Missionary Church 
with the Rev. Jimmy Futch officiating.
 Interment with military honors was held at Riverside Cemetery.
