News Gleaned From Georgia

R.Y. Lane, founder and president of the Merchants’ Bank of Valdosta died after
an illness of ten days.  Mr. Lane was in his ninety-first year and probably the
oldest bank president in Georgia.  He established the first bank in Valdosta.
