The Valdosta Times - January 18, 2003
 Sarah Jean Luke, 76, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 
Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ft. Myers, FL and had 
lived in Lowndes County for the last 25 years. Mrs. Luke was a member of Bethel 
Baptist Church. She was awarded a lifetime membership with the Lowndes High 
School Tip-off Club and was a member Disabled American Veterans. Her husband, 
Arlin Luke and daughter, Beverly Newton, preceded her in death.
 Survivors included her grandson, Kelly Newton, Garden City, GA; great-aunt, 
Reba Nyen, Marietta, GA, niece, Rebecca, Rebecca Christian, Fernandina Beach, 
FL; five step-children, Wesley and Gloria Luke, Twin Lakes, GA, Marlon Phelps, 
Hahira, Jan and Eddie Rowland, Valdosta, Cathy and  Doug Childs, Decatur, AL, 
Steven and Terri Luke, Suwanee, GA; nine step-grandchildren; six
step-great-grandchildren.
 A memorial service will be held at 20:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003 in the
Chapel of Fellowship Home on Highway 133. 
 Interment to be at Flat Creek Cemetery, Nashville, GA.
 Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
