Wilson September 23, 2003, 11:16 am Orlando [Fla] Morning Star, Friday Sept. 8, 1922 MRS. BORING DIES The many friends of Mrs. Sallie E. Boring will learn with regret of her passing away at 6:15 last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.M. Coppedge. Besides Mrs. Coppedge, she leaves three other daughters, Mrs. J.B. Land, of Reynolds, GA., Mrs. M. Godbolt, Mrs. J. J. McCranie, Jacksonville, and three sons, W.C. and J. Boring, of Waldo and A.W. Boring, of Tampa. The remains will be taken to Waldo this morning for interment in the family lot. Additional Comments: Sallie Boring was born Sarah Ellen Stephens in 1843 in Lowndes County, GA. Her parents were John and Martha Stephens. She was married in 1864 to Joseph W. Boring, who died in 1903 in Valdosta. Part of their nearly 40-year-marriage was spent in Valdosta and part in Waldo, FL, where his parents and some of their children settled. After Joseph's death, she moved to Florida and lived with her children. This obituary was obtained through the Orange County Public Library "Ask-a-Librarian" reference service.
