Plair, 77, of Valdosta died Friday, March 6, 2015, at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on April 10, 1937, in Nashville to the late Charles and Lessie Ina Nix Gray. Mrs. Plair moved to Valdosta in 1957 and worked at Eye Associates for the past 45 years. She was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Plair started and was head of Christian Singles organization in Valdosta in the early 1980’s which is responsible for over 65 marriages and hundreds of new friendships. She was a founding member of the first graduating class of 1955 from Berrien County High School where she was editor of the yearbook, member of the basketball team and an honor graduate. Mrs. Plair helped coach and was team Mom for little league in the early 1960’s and 1970’s where she impacted the lives of hundreds of little leaguers and their families. She was an avid Lowndes Viking, UGA Bulldog and FSU Seminole fan. Mrs. Plair is survived by her son and daughter in law, Andy and Vanessa Plair of Valdosta; two daughters and son in law, Karen and Kevin Faucette of Quitman and Angelia Bell of Hahira; six grandchildren, Kristin Faucette Harkleroad (Danny), Mitchell Faucette, Sarah Swann (David), Harleigh Ann Bell, Andrew Plair and Savannah Bell; one great grandson, Wyatt Swann. She is predeceased by her son, Mitchell Eugene Plair; her parents and four brothers, Charles Gray, Lamar Gray, Russell Gray and Henry Gray. Funeral services were held March 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Perimeter Road Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Anderson and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Interment was in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
