Jonah was the son of Mitchell J. Alderman and Mary D. Hiers of Colquitt County. Effie was the daughter of Rabon Black and Emmaline ? of Taylor, Fl. Jonah and Effie were married in 1898 in Lowndes County, Ga. Jonah and Effie raised 14 children. Six were children of Jonah with his first wife who was deceased. Jonah died in 1934, Lowndes County, Ga. and is buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta, Ga. and Effie died in 1955 in Miami, Dade County, Fl. and is also buried in Sun Set Hill Cemetery in Valdosta. Additional Comments: Jonah's oldest son, Jonah oscar Alderman was not raised by Effie. He had already left home at the time of their marriage.
