Sally--daughter of Burrell and Ann Cook was born 21st April 1815 on Friday at 12 o’clock. John Hamby was born 25 Oct. 1790. Sarah Ann--daughter of John & Sally Hamby was born 15 Nov. 1834. John Wesley--son of John & Sally Hamby was born 10 Apr. 1837. Ben G. B. ---son of John & Sally Hamby was born 10 June 1839. Ezekiel J.---son of John & Sally Hamby was born 8 Oct. 1841. Mary E. Hamby was born July 10, 1844. Stephen M Hamby was born June 19, 1846. Robert S. Hamby was born 8 Jany. 1849. State of Georgia--County of Forsyth I, William D. Bently, ordinary and exofficio clerk of the Court of Ordinary within and for the County and State aforesaid, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true extract of the marriage of John Hamby and Sarah Hamby as appears in a book, the Holy Bible, printed at Philadelphia, dated A.D. 1834. And which record has been proven and identified and from the appearance of the book and writing which is in a plain, ledgable hand, I believe the same to be original and genuine. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed the seal of said Court on this the 1st day of August A.D. 1878. William D. Sent to me when I applied for Service records, Bounty Land records for John Hamby, by the Veteran’s Administration, Washington D.C. Info on John Hamby: Appeared in 1850 Census in Lumpkin Co. Ga Yellow Creek Dist. Died before 1860 Census. Widow and children showed Dawson Co. Ga Yellow Creek Dist. Lived in the part of Lumpkin Co. that became Dawson Co.
